We believe that true quality and meaningful design begin at this fundamental level. It's not just about comfort and support, it's a testament to craftsmanship and innovation. We invite you on our sole searching journey to explore the precise processes and innovative materials that form the very foundation of each shoe.
Material & Innovation
Our journey began with a search for better materials. Not just alternatives, but ones that could genuinely shift how shoes are made. We found that in recycled EVA, created from post consumer car seat waste sourced in Europe.
It’s durable, lightweight, and comfortable, forming the foundation of every Sampla sole. This approach reflects our belief that upcycled materials can lead to smarter, more sustainable design.
The Cork Chapter
Sustainability isn’t just about materials. For us, it also means durability. Early in our process, we explored several options, including a collaboration with Amorim, Portugal’s leading cork producer, to develop a full cork midsole.
While the material held promise, it didn’t meet our standards for long-term wear. We chose to pivot, because lasting quality is essential to what we do.

With the right materials in place, the craft begins. Carefully made in Portugal by skilled artisans, from the first cut to the final welt, every step is handled with precision in a family-run facility.
These shoes aren’t just made they’re crafted with purpose, care, and pride.
Designed for Longevity
Mindful consumption starts with thoughtful design. Each sole is prefabricated and easily replaceable, extending the life of every pair.
We chose a repurposed EVA midsole for its balance of comfort and durability, reducing waste without compromising performance. It’s our way of encouraging long-term wear and demonstrating how products can be made more consciously and ethically.

Our commitment from the beginning has been to set an example for how products can be made ethically within the industry. We questioned why established brands weren't consistently producing shoes ethically from sustainable materials. This guiding inquiry propelled us to challenge conventional norms and seek solutions that advance the boundaries of both design and sustainability. Our mission is clear: to prove that a small, focused team can create superior, ethically produced products that set a new standard, challenging the status quo of larger corporations.
